The allure of the garage door

The Special’s interest goes beyond cars to things car-related and a chance chat with local photographer Ray led us to this collection of garage doors not from him and Special HQ.

Of course the thought flashing through any enthusiast’s mind is ‘what is in the garage?’ It’s that Pavlov’s Dogs’ moment when all sorts of ideas can manifest themselves. An old garage door? Maybe something pre-war and if so, exotic (Bugatti) or mainstream (Austin 7)? And behind those more modern doors, could there lurk a low-mileage MkI Granada 3.0 GXL or a Vauxhall Viscount? Or an off-the-radar Sierra RS500?
