No damp squibs in the Potteries as deluge fails to dampen Trentham classic spirits
No damp squibs in the Potteries as deluge fails to dampen Trentham classic spirits
If you’re familiar with Sister Rosetta Tharpe’s ‘Didn’t It Rain’ you might have an inkling just how wet it was at the Trentham Classic Car Show. And didn’t it rain – not ‘arf, as Fluff Freeman so often said.
But who cares when the cars are the stars? And how often do you arrive at a show to see an Invicta Black Prince? Well, there was one, in all its fine, generously-proportioned slipperback glory.
And if that wasn’t enough, how about a Mitsubishi Cordia? Here was the very car The Special tried to buy when it came up for auction last year. Neverthless, it was good to see what could have been sharing our garage with The Special’s Mitsubishi Lancer estate.
A smorgasbord of classics, including raft of American motors and Armstrong-Siddeleys meant this was a show well worth visiting, but rather than us banging on about it, have a look at the pictures.
Thanks to The Special’s photographer/picture editor Special K for taking the pictures and working the image magic.
