Wye not? Vintage rally with a fabulous backdrop
The Special was up early and out of its HQ by 7.30am for the Three Cocks Vintage Rally, a proper old-school event mixing cars, steam engines and trucks, tractors and stationary engines in one terrific England/Wales border location.
Set-up early in one of the classic car fields the backdrop was the River Wye valley, and its sublime view was complemented by regular toots from the steam engines as they powered generously dimensioned saws.
Picks of the event were the roof-chopped Mk1 Ford Consul, Swallow Doretti, Uni-Horse tractor and the Ruston and Hornsby engine Trevithick. A fabulous event with great autojumble too and one we’ll be back at next year, maybe with two 1980s campers.
