Rain DIDN’T stop play

Who’d be a show organiser? Back again to the Trentham Classic and Retro Show and to once again quote Sister Rosetta Tharp, ‘didn’t it rain?’

It did. Bigtime. But any experienced show-goer, whether with their car or just as a punter, usually accepts that. And for those who did, there was plenty to see, from pre-war (well we did spy an Austin Ruby and a cracking late-‘30s Morris) to modern performance Ford and, of course, all points in between.

It’s a genuinely great show that was once again crying out for good weather. The setting’s good, there’s room for way more cars and all that’s also needed is an autojumble too.

Poor weather saw early departures and The Special’s creative genius Special K was particularly disappointed to see one car had gone early…. Maybe a change to an early date for 2026?
