’26 Scrambles finish on a high
’26 Scrambles finish on a high
… and almost as high as the wonderful blue skies that rounded off the 2026 Scramble calendar.
Plenty of people we spoke to ask the same question – “how does it continually remain so good?” and there was no getting away from the eclectic mix of motors that pleased lovers of stockers, restomods, traditional hot rods and modern classics.
Boosted by a display the put 1976 under the spotlight, for the older visitor it was the reminder of a heady summer that boiled over like grandad’s Morris Oxford heading to the coast on a Saturday afternoon while in the competition world both James Hunt and Barry Sheene secured their places in the history books with Worls Championship titles.
Plenty of walking around and looking and going back to look again was the order of the day. Great hospitality from the Hagerty crew added to the occasion, as did welcoming marshals and fast-food crews.
And, of course, there’s the socialising. The Special caught up with mates Simon that put Lot 76 Cars and Pauled Pork, he of Porsche Boxster Youtube fame. And that’s what it’s all about: great cars, great mates and meeting other enthusiasts too.
What a way to finish 2026 – here’s to an equally good 2027. Topping this year’s Scrambles would be quite an achievement.
