A kickin’ event

Yes it was, courtesy in no small part with its title: The RAC’s first 2026 tyre-kicking event was one of those low-key, friendly and in in this case sun-bestowed events that we all need after the winter.

We’d missed the January motoring open evening at Pall Mall, so here was a chance to make up that lost ground, our chosen mode of getting there being The Special’s Isuzu Trooper.

Put simply, Royal Automobile Club members are invited to bring one of their cars along, park and then catch-up. It’s that simple, with beverages and bacon rolls sustaining the throng.Held in the lovely red brick building that houses the Club’s collection of cars – plus an array of automobilia and especially RAC road signs – there’s no better way to spend an early Spring Saturday morning.
