The second Scramble of the year was much anticipated and much enjoyed: in other words, it continues to be a must-visit event for anyone with an appreciation of classics, no matter if they’re vintage or modern.
The variety of motors the Scramble serves up continues to impress this seasoned, often cynical enthusiast and with good reason, because it’s not just the cars that are special, so too is the atmosphere. The Special arrived at 7.45am to an already busy event, many cars already on parade.
By 9am the event’s buzzing: there’s a lot to see, people to talk to, businesses to look at. And, of course, there are the cars. All ages, all conditions, there’s something for almost any enthusiast. Any visit takes time, and even for regular Scramblers there’s still the delight of finding something new, or talking motors with fresh faces.
It’s worth spending as much time as you can at any Scramble because there really is so much to look at, and on a fine day being outdoors rather than cooped-up in an exhibition hall makes things all the better.
Once again, we came away more than impressed by this event. The bar’s already high but there’s no reason to believe The Scramble won’t continue to be this good or become even better.
