Drive-It Day: Project 55 hits the road

Drive-It Day: yes, Project 55 was certainly driven, putting 394 miles under its refurbished steelies on the day, of all days, when old (and older) cars should be on the road.

55’s day began reasonably early, with a sprint up the M40 from Burnham Beeches to Bicester Scramble (see our Scramble report) after which it was on to the North Midlands to see friend of The Special, Special K.

Social duties over the 55 turned South on the M6 and headed home: it didn’t miss a beat either. Total Drive-It Day distance covered? 394 miles. Not bad for a ploddy old oil-burner…

Its reward was a thorough clean, the paint benefitting from a coating of Car Gods Holy Water sealant – let that Daytona Yellow gleam!
