Pick up a pick-up

There’s just something so bloomin’ right about a pick-up. Great for carrying loads but perfectly ok to use on a daily basis and if you’re fancying a more classic pick-em-up look no further than Cheffins Cambridge Vintage Sale on 18 October.

Two Stateside delights are being offered, a 1928 Chevrolet Capitol and a 1967 Ford F100.

The Chevrolet, which runs a 2.8-litre, is said to have been well-restored, the cab and wheels being re-built, as has the pick-up bed. There’s a bit of finishing off to do and it’s estimated at £8000-10,000.

The Ford is said to be running and driving and is pleasingly patinated, which is just how we like these models. It’s got the tough-as-old-boots 240 cubic inch straight six and three on the tree and is estimated at £6000-8000.
