We’ve seen the signs

No enthusiast’s domestic garage should be without some signage and for those fancying some outstanding examples, Cheffins’ 21 March sale is THE place to be.

The sale – described as ‘Britain’s most significant barn-find collection of motoring history in decades’ consists of more than 400 items and has been off the radar for more than two decades, being kept in two barns in East Anglia. And alongside signs there’s a selection of petrol pump globes, motoring ephemera and some bicycles.

Top lots include a 5ft x 4ft Stepney Tyres sign (therefore closely connected to Special HQ) that has a £10,000-15,000 estimate and a British Dominion sign, estimated at £5000-7000.

The collection is strong enough to warrant its own sale, which is being held by Cheffins at its Machinery Saleground in Sutton, near Ely on Saturday 21 March.
