Both the Citroen and Isuzu went out just a matter of hours after the clocks changed – and how easy it was to adjust their clocks when compared with the guv’nor’s X-type.

Simplicity is the key with both the Citroen and the Isuzu: with the former it’s a case of pressing the button at the bottom of the clock and watch the hands whirr around to the required time. With the Isuzu it’s simply pressing the hour button and watch the green figures advance.

Easy. And it’s the same with C15, the Escort 55 and the Fourtrak (all have ‘proper’ clocks) and with the Cuore, Lancer, Mentor and Nippa with their digital buttons. What a contrast from the X-type’s complexity of scrolling through, via the ‘mode’ button, to get there.

In other words, where’s the progress? Oh, hang on…
