The Special’s cars – and record shops

In an occasional series – but not too occasional we hope – The Special’s getting out on the road in a quest to buy more CDs and cassette tapes for its cars, as well as vinyl for at-home listening.And we’ll kick things off with the record shop nearest to Special HQ. You’ll find The Second 45 in Llanelli, and for those who take their music buying seriously this is just about the best place to start.

Run by Mike Savory and Mike Kennedy, The Second 45 opened its doors in January 2023 and has since built a reputation that extends way beyond Llanelli and Carmarthenshire to the whole of the UK and beyond. It offers new and pre-owned, on a roughly 50/50 basis.
