Project 55 – back in use, fresh paint to come

After a serious amount being laid out on re-building Project 55’s underside it’s been pressed back into daily use and so far has come up with the reliability goods. It starts first time every time, has a great heater and generally plods around reliably and economically.

And despite its somewhat shabby appearance – new wings are noticeable, the new sills not so – it generates favourable comments whenever it’s out and about.

The next stage is a re-paint and it’s already been booked-in: However, it’s not going to be white, but it will be a Ford hue. All we’ll say is we’ve re-visited Ford’s early-’70s colour charts….
