Viva Re-VIVA-l part 4
Viva Re-VIVA-l part 4
More progress both mechanically and cosmetically for the HA as, after more than 10 years the entire ignition system’s been replaced, while cosmetically it’s been fitted with an eBay-bought Bedford HA grille (with the all-important Bedford badge) and the re-trimmed seats have been fitted after a decade in storage.
Jon the Tec’s regular visits have put the pint-sized kustom van firmly back on track: along with the new plugs, pints, condenser, rotor arm, leads and distributor cap the fuel lines have been replaced. He’s also finished all the underbonnet wiring bar that for the new headlights: these have been ordered from a lighting specialist.
Jon’s also fitting a new brake master cylinder, the existing one having seized solid and we’re still looking for a replacement handbrake ratchet.
The re-trimmed seats are back in and the new door cards and kick panels are being re-covered in a suitably 1960s kustom way – there’ll be an update soon. These will be followed by all-new carpet and more re-freshing of the load area, while re-building the roof is another job on the cards.
